Kayon Teams with Cecil Chambers to Create New Music Entity

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., Jan. 17, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Kayon Partners is pleased to announce the formation of a new music publishing business with music publishing veteran Cecil Chambers. The entertainment partnership is structured on a multi-year financing model to leverage long-term trends and relationships.

Chambers will steer the newly formed Earshot Music Publishing, and has set up offices in Beverly Hills and New York City. Chambers has overseen songwriting for such artists as Destiny's Child, Ginuwine, Usher, N'Sync and Brandy. "Working with Kayon Partners is going to be bright. Steve Garrow and David Vogel are the right partners with a long-term vision around this business. We intend to build this boutique company into a brand to be recognized for its hit catalog."

In 2001, Chambers found and signed Anita McCloud. Under Chambers' influence, she penned the Grammy Award Winning Song for USHER, U REMIND ME, which awarded her the Prestigious Songwriter of the Year Award from BMI. In the early stages of Mr. Chambers' music career, he worked with the likes of multi-platinum recording artist and songwriter Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds, rap legend "Tupac" Shakur, and crooner Jon B. to name a few.

In Chambers' previous music publishing association with Kenneth Crear, they signed platinum producers Warren Campbell, Rick 'Dutch' Cousin (who produced Ice Cube's biggest record We Be Clubbin'); and with HITS in their catalog, caught the attention of Evan Medow, former CEO of Windswept Music Publishing. Chambers was soon given a publishing venture within Windswept and developed a stable catalogue of his own. EMI acquired Windswept for $250M and Chambers sold his catalogue as part of this transaction. 

Chambers was responsible for more than 100m albums sold, 5 top 10's, and 1 Grammy.
