Keefe Law Firm's Jessica S. Allen Appointed to the NJ Supreme Court Committee on Women in the Courts
RED BANK, N.J., Sept. 25, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Jessica S. Allen, Counsel at Keefe Law Firm was appointed to the New Jersey Supreme Court Committee on Women in the Courts as the New Jersey Women Lawyers Association's representative for its 2018-2020 term. The purpose of the Committee is twofold:
1. Monitor the New Jersey Court system's systemic gender bias and,
2. Make recommendations to the Supreme Court on gender bias to help ensure fair treatment for women in the courts.
This is Ms. Allen's second NJ Supreme Court appointment. She also served on the New Jersey Supreme Court Committee on Complementary Dispute Resolution as the Division of Law Representative for the 2013-2015 term.
An active contributor to the NJ legal community, she is the Immediate Past President of the New Jersey Women Lawyers Association and was the 2014 recipient of the Professional Lawyer of the Year Award from the New Jersey Commission on Professionalism in the Law. Ms. Allen also serves as a Committee Co-chair for the Executive Committee of the NJSBA Labor & Employment Law Section for the 2018-2019 term. Additionally, she is an Executive Board Member of the Historical Society of the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey.
Ms. Allen co-authored "A Preview of Proposed EEOC Enforcement Guidance and Effects of #MeToo," New Jersey Law Journal, March 2018.
A frequent CLE speaker, Ms. Allen will be presenting at Workplace Investigations in Light of the #MeToo Movement on Sept. 26 and 2018 Employment Law Roundtable: Janus Was Just the Tip of the Iceberg on Dec. 11 at the New Jersey Law Center in New Brunswick, NJ.
