Keeper Springs™ Natural Spring Water Donates More Than $145,000 To Waterkeeper Organizations Nationwide

DOVER, Mass., Nov. 12, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Keeper Springs™ Natural Spring Water, which donates 100 percent of its profits to protect America's waterways, today announced the donation of more than $145,000 in support of local environmental heroes.  This year, Keeper Springs has added four Waterkeeper® organizations to its donation roster, bringing to 17 the number of individual Waterkeepers supported by Keeper Springs across the country. Keeper Springs has raised more than $1.145 million to support America's waterways.

Keeper Springs donates 100 percent of its profits to the members of its namesake – Waterkeeper® Alliance and its 17 of the 200 Waterkeepers around the world.  Donations from Keeper Springs help the people who have dedicated their lives to fight for American's right to clean water and clean waterways.  Waterkeepers fight water pollution and the polluters themselves, by fighting for the enforcement of clean water laws, as well as the restoration and preservation of these precious national assets.

Keeper Springs aims to increase awareness of the Waterkeepers' mission and provide a tool – money – to help them do more for our nation's waterways.  As part of its most recent activities, the Keeper Springs Mobile Tour made stops throughout parts of Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey and New York to educate consumers about the brand's commitment and to demand recycling. 

This summer, Keeper Springs was chosen by Omni Hotels & Resorts to be part of its new "Art of Water" poolside menu program. Omni offered Keeper Springs at 22 hotels and made a matching donation of $5,000 to the Waterkeeper Alliance, the global environmental movement uniting nearly 200 Waterkeeper organizations around the world and focusing citizen advocacy on the issues that affect waterways from pollution to climate change.   The $5,000 donation will support the Waterkeeper Alliance's Clean Water Act (CWA) 40 Initiative, an awareness project working with Waterkeeper organizations, the general public, and local and national decision makers regarding the important of the CWA during the 40^th anniversary of the historic legislation becoming law.
