To mark the 100-day countdown to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Kellogg Company, an official sponsor of the United States Olympic Committee, today unveiled a campaign that celebrates how U.S. Olympians get their starts. When the world is focused on the finish, Kellogg's® champions the start for all the potential it embodies. At Kelloggs.com/teamusa, fans can watch a series of moving "Start Story" videos that follow the inspirational journey of each of the eight Team Kellogg's™ athletes and how they first got their start. These web videos kick off Kellogg's campaign – 'From Great Starts Come Great Things™' – designed to engage Americans in celebrating the importance of "the start" in creating the potential for great days, every day.
"It's inspiring to see how all these great athletes got their start, from two-time Olympic gold medalist Kerri Walsh to U.S. Olympic hopeful and table tennis player Michael Landers," said Doug VanDeVelde, senior vice president of Morning Foods, Kellogg Company. "These Team Kellogg's athletes remind all of us that each day is filled with the potential to achieve your goals when you start it off right."
Team Kellogg's Start Stories
Kellogg's created exclusive videos of all eight Team Kellogg's athletes, detailing their individual start stories in recognition that there is no destination without a beginning. The videos can be viewed on a unique web destination, Kelloggs.com/teamusa, which serves as a hub for fans to experience inspiring, behind-the-scenes glimpses of the lives of these eight world-class athletes and uncover the nutrition routines that fuel their journeys to the Olympic Games.
"Kellogg's cereals have been at the start of my day since I was a kid and now even as I grow older, breakfast is the most important meal of my day," said Team Kellogg's athlete and three-time Olympic medalist in swimming, Rebecca Soni. "That's why I am excited to be a part of Kellogg's 'From Great Starts Come Great Things' campaign and to help share my story in the hope of inspiring others to achieve their full potential."
Team Kellogg's roster of elite athletes includes Michael Landers (table tennis), Dwight Phillips (track and field), Summer Sanders (swimming legend), Rebecca Soni (swimming), Casey Tibbs (Paralympic track and field), Juan Agudelo (soccer), Kerri Walsh (beach volleyball) and Jordyn Wieber (gymnastics).
