SALT LAKE CITY, March 26, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Kemesa, a world leader in password protection and online security, introduces added functionality that provides more options for consumers, online professionals and small business.
The chief addition is the ability to share passwords effortlessly among work colleagues or families. Also, Kemesa's 2.0.1 update adds Express Log-in and data portability.
Families can use password-sharing for home accounts and to implement parental controls on targeted sites.
The updates especially benefit small business and web professionals.
"With our expanded functionality, Kemesa provides a true professional- and small business-grade security solution," says CEO Chris Skipworth. "We know these added features will be embraced by consumers, and by online professionals and small business – those we call the 'pro-sumer'."
Password sharing promotes business security by getting rid of all those password lists routinely distributed to new workers. Employee orientation is easier and more effective with Kemesa because new employees get one-password access to all stored company passwords.
"IT security directors are sure to embrace this concept, and we think it also has broad benefits for other business, especially the legal and financial community, as well as for firms that work with contract employees," says Skipworth.
There is nothing to install on your computer with Kemesa, and users can access personal data from any computer anywhere in the world.
The Express Login feature increases efficiency by populating a user's credentials at a target website with one click after log-in.
"We're streamlining our process and enhancing security because we want to make Kemesa intuitive for users," Skipworth says.
For travelers or those who want local redundancy, the new Offline Backup function lets users back up passwords on a USB or hard drive. (Kemesa recommends an encrypted device.)
Kemesa works in all browsers, and one-user plans, which include password-sharing with one person, are free. Other options serving up to three users are $12 annually. Highly reasonable rates also are available for professionals, work groups, small businesses and enterprise.
Originated by the company that developed ShopShield, the highly respected online secure payment shopping platform, Kemesa's cloud-based application is built on the same remote access process and security encryption used by the Department of Defense and financial institutions.
