NEW YORK, May 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Ken Leissler has joined Protiviti Inc., a global business consulting and internal audit firm, as a managing director and leader of the New York e-discovery team within the firm's Litigation, Restructuring and Investigative Services (LRIS) practice.

Leissler has more than 30 years of law enforcement and corporate investigative experience. He has extensive expertise and training in computer forensic investigations and law enforcement, holding numerous certifications relating to advanced investigative techniques, technology and crime prevention. Leissler also has testified as an expert witness on the subject of computer forensic evidence and internet investigations. He joins Protiviti from Duff & Phelps, LLC, where he served as a senior advisor in the Dispute and Legal Management Consulting group and leader of the global Electronic Discovery and Investigations group.
Leissler holds a degree in criminal justice from County College of Morris in New Jersey and is a graduate of the National Intelligence Academy, Federal Law Enforcement Training Academy and the National Crime Prevention Institute at the University of Louisville in Kentucky. Since 1987, Leissler has been an instructor of computer crime and crime analysis courses at several universities and state police academies nationwide, and he is currently instructing courses in advanced computer crime investigative techniques at Farleigh Dickinson University in New Jersey. Among the topics covered in the trainings that he has conducted are computer espionage advanced internet investigations, electronic crime scene and tactical crimes computer analysis. Leissler is a regular speaker at industry events; most recently, he served as a data privacy expert for a panel at the New York Information Systems Security Association in February 2010.
Leissler holds a seized computer recovery evidence specialist certification and is a certified police instructor for the state of New Jersey. He also is certified in basic data recovery by the National White Collar Crime Center. His professional affiliations include the High Tech Crime Investigators Association (HTCIA-NE), New York City Electronic Crimes Task Force and International Association of Computer Investigative Specialists.
