Ken Nicolson Joins Antenna Software as Executive Vice President of Global Sales and Business Development
JERSEY CITY, N.J., July 23, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Antenna Software, Inc., helping enterprises to build, manage, and publish mobile apps and websites that transform business, today announced that Ken Nicolson has joined the company as executive vice president of global sales and business development. Nicolson is a veteran sales and marketing executive, bringing extensive expertise in developing and refining successful go-to-market strategies to Antenna. His international sales leadership in highly competitive and fast-paced markets makes him a strong addition to the company's executive leadership team. Nicolson will report directly to Jim Hemmer, Antenna's president and CEO.
"We are thrilled to bring someone as talented and accomplished as Ken to Antenna," said Hemmer. "Ken's experience engineering and enhancing strong, effective sales and channel strategies make him a great addition to our leadership team. His background in leading sales teams combined with his management experience in the dynamic and competitive social media technology space – which is much like today's mobile market – is unparalleled. We have best-in-class technology, and with Ken on our team, I'm confident we are poised to take our business to the next level."
Nicolson joins Antenna with several years of experience running organizations in the mobile, social web, and personalization industries, having served in various customer-facing senior management positions for both venture-backed and public companies. Previously he held positions as president and CEO of Powered, a social media marketing agency, and as chief marketing officer at Pluck, a leading provider of social media tools and content services for online publishing. Prior to this, Nicolson served as the president and CEO of Veridiem, a leader in marketing optimization services, which he led successfully until its 2006 purchase by SAS Institute. Before being appointed president and CEO, Nicolson was Veridiem's vice president of sales, where he effectively re-engineered the company's sales operations and market channels. He joined Veridiem from Alphabox, a leading provider of web-based analytical application software and services, where he was also the vice president of sales and led a large team of account directors, systems engineers, inside sales and channel development managers.
"Antenna is positioned at the center of one of the hottest technology markets today – enterprise mobility – and the company has a great reputation that I know will make my role that much more exciting," said Nicolson. "I look forward to working with such a recognized leader and in helping take the company to new heights – the best companies I've worked with have always been in the most compelling and competitive markets, and none has been as compelling or competitive as mobility is today. I believe we have a truly unique opportunity ahead and I'm excited to be joining Antenna's dynamic executive team to enable global brands to deliver on the promise of mobility."
Nicolson began his career at IBM after graduating magna cum laude from Duke University with a degree in electrical engineering. He spent six years at IBM before earning his MBA from the Harvard Graduate School of Business. After obtaining his Masters, Ken spent the next 12 years in Silicon Valley, working in executive marketing positions at Informix Software, Red Brick Systems, and Kiva Software.
