Kenneth C. Blocker Joins Wertz York Capital Management Group

TAMPA, Fla., Oct. 15, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Wertz York Capital Management Group, a Tampa-based SEC registered investment advisor, announced today that Kenneth C. Blocker will be joining the firm as Vice President of Business Development and Operations.  Mr. Blocker will be primarily representing Wertz York in Florida's 67 county school districts.

The firm specializes in cash management services and fixed income portfolio management for individual, corporate and governmental clients statewide and manages FL-FIT (Florida Fixed Income Trust) and IDP (Insured Deposit Portal).  Since its inception in 2000, the firm has managed billions of dollars in public funds.

Mr. Blocker has more than 15 years of experience working in school districts and non-profits where he served as Chief Financial Officer.  Most recently, Mr. Blocker was the Assistant Superintendent of Business Services for the Citrus County School District.  He started the District's first investment portfolio achieving results to support the District's mission of quality education in the classroom.  During his tenure, he managed the District's finances amid the worst economic times in recent history to support the District in receiving the designation of a high performing school district for the last nine years.  Prior to the Citrus County School District, Mr. Blocker held the position of Vice President, Director of Finance for Phoenix Houses of Florida.  He directed the non-profit as the Chief Financial Officer for the Florida region.  Mr. Blocker earned a bachelor's degree from the University of South Florida and a Master's in Business Administration from Saint Leo University.  He is also credentialed as a Certified Public Funds Investment Manager.
