Kenwood Vineyards Launches Perfect Pasta Pairing Contest
KENWOOD, Calif., Sept. 4, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Make a dynamite pasta dish? Know the perfect wine to accompany it? Then this is your opportunity to shine! The Kenwood Vineyards Perfect Pasta Pairing Contest challenges entrants to create a pasta masterpiece that pairs perfectly with one of six Kenwood Vineyards wines. The competition will be fierce, as the Grand Prize is a spectacular Kenwood Vineyards wine country tour package valued at $5,000.

Open to all amateur chefs, the Kenwood Vineyards Perfect Pasta Pairing Contest will begin accepting entries on September 15th and continue through December 1st, 2013. Entries must include the name of the dish, an original pasta recipe, the Kenwood Vineyards Sonoma County wine that would pair best with the dish, selected from six options (Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Zinfandel or Cabernet Sauvignon), an explanation of why the dish is the ultimate complement to the selected wine and a photo of the dish (to be used as a reference and not judged).
Submissions will be judged by a qualified panel of judges for originality, taste appeal and wine pairing, and a winner for each wine variety will be selected. Each of these category winners will receive a gourmet culinary gift basket valued at $150. The judges then will re-evaluate the category winners and select the Grand Prize Winner. The Grand Prize Winner will be treated to a three-day, two-night Kenwood Vineyards culinary experience for two, including airfare, lodging, meals, daily car service, a VIP tour of Kenwood Vineyards and more. All winners will be notified on December 16, 2013.
