Kerry Duffain Joins East Lodge Capital

East Lodge has hired Kerry Duffain as Head of European Distribution. In this role, Ms. Duffain will be responsible for the oversight and management of investor relationships in the European region and will additionally help cultivate the firm's investor relationships in Australia. Ms. Duffain has over 25 years' experience in the financial services industry, having previously worked for both traditional and alternative investment management firms. Prior to joining East Lodge, she was Head of Distribution for Markham Rae, where she had responsibility for both existing and prospective clients and investment consultants, and covered both liquid and illiquid strategies. Before this, she was Global Head of Consultant Relations and Head of the UK & Australia at Bluecrest Capital Management. Prior to Bluecrest, she held Global Consultant Relations roles at both Pioneer Investments and Citigroup Asset Management. Ms. Duffain also previously held the position of European Head of Client Service at both JP Morgan Asset Management and State Street Global Advisors.
East Lodge Capital is a London-based investment management firm that was founded in 2013 by Alistair Lumsden. With ~$1.5bn in AUM, the firm primarily invests in global structured credit and European direct lending strategies. The firm employs a long/short approach, investing predominantly in Europe in markets such as RMBS, CMBS and CLOs. East Lodge is planning to launch a long only fund that will have a more liquid profile, focusing on opportunities higher in the capital structure.
Mr. Lumsden is well known for having founded CQS' global ABS business which included the CQS ABS Fund, a fund he launched in October 2006 and successfully managed for over 6 years before leaving in December 2012. He was able to attract 7 of his former colleagues to East Lodge, including the firm's entire management committee.
