DALLAS, Jan. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Key Construction of Fort Worth recently completed CIGNA Pointe One: Regional Headquarters in Plano for CMC Commercial Realty Group of Dallas, Texas. It was designed and constructed according to LEED® sustainable design guidelines and is being submitted for Silver LEED certification.
The 204,000 square foot, four-story complex was constructed to be a regional headquarters for CIGNA, so they could consolidate many of their operations at the Plano location. It is situated on a 43 acre master-planned site on the northeast corner of the Dallas North Tollway and Plano Parkway. CIGNA Pointe is divided into two wings, with each floor containing about 50,000 square feet per wing. The façade of the building is concrete, enhanced with thin brick, aluminum and glass curtain wall.
"I don't know when I've seen a more complicated project with such a short schedule," declared Steve Huff, Senior Vice-President of CMC. "You and your firm (Key Construction) have clearly risen to the challenge. Please pass on our deep-felt appreciation to your entire team."
This state-of-the-art facility incorporates an East-West orientation to minimize direct sun exposure and is constructed with recycled materials, low-E glass, a white reflective roof, and high-efficiency MEP systems. Additional 'green' features include rainwater capture, efficient landscaping, and natural daylighting.
"We are very fortunate to have been a part of such a great team: CIGNA, CMC, CBRE and Corgan Associates," said Steve Whitcraft, Executive Vice President of Key Construction. "Everyone worked together to produce a remarkable, environmentally-friendly building that we can all be proud of."
The award-winning firm of Corgan Associates of Dallas provided architectural design services.
