CHICAGO, Jan. 31, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Keyser Retail Solutions (KRS), a leader in QSR signage and drive-thru technology, introduces the Order Zone Optimizer™ Drive-thru Menu Board system. This innovative product is in direct response to QSR operators' need to better implement dayparting strategies at drive-thru while keeping costs at a minimum.
"We set out to leverage the very latest in available technologies to create a drive-thru menu board product line that is unmatched in terms of driving sales up and operating costs down," says KRS president, Judy Haselberger. "The OZO™ delivers on both fronts."
The pressures of merchandising communications have never been higher: extension into new dayparts, expanded menu offerings, menu labeling challenges, and a value and time conscious customer all come together in the drive-thru. Menu boards that are less cluttered, with simplistic messaging and mouthwatering food photography will make it easier for the customer to identify options, make choices, and consider add-ons. Utilizing a menu system with dayparting technology will allow an operator to focus the customer on the food and beverage offerings for that time of day, increasing ease of use and speed through the drive-thru. Additional information on maximizing messaging through the drive-thru is available at: http://www.keyservisual.com/zone-strategy-los.php
The Order Zone Optimizer™ menu board system is designed to be modular—and to support a multiple daypart business. Each module is a three-sided column, and operators can implement signage that has one, two, three or more columns depending upon their need. The columns rotate to a new daypart through an automation system that is programmed similar to most home thermostats. This automation allows greater control and flexibility of customer communication. It also eliminates the need for a crew person to leave the restaurant to change the menu signage at any time of day.
OZO™ Menu Boards come standard with energy-efficient LED lighting. Savings from this smart technology offer a ROI of just 20 months and an annual savings of $1,000 per unit. The LED lighting system also requires very little maintenance. Bulbs and ballasts can last up to seven years or more, depending upon the number of hours/day use.
The development of this technology began in 2007 and was released nationally in 2011. The time spent in development and field validation ensured a robust, well designed system to meet the needs of the ever-challenging, ever-changing communication needs of the QSR operator. KRS's sister business Florida Plastics International installed the very first application of OZO™ technology in a large QSR operator's drive-thrus in several U.S. markets.
KRS has been a pioneer in the QSR visual merchandising arena, providing its clients with solutions that deliver strategic, cohesive and impactful messaging within the QSR retail environment. Through its sister business Florida Plastics International, the company has served as exclusive provider of menu boards and related visual merchandising products to one of the largest fast-food companies in the U.S. and is responsible for developing many of today's industry standards and practices. In 2011 KRS entered into a marketing agreement with digital signage leader Wireless Ronin Technologies to provide digital and other marketing technology solutions to the QSR industry.
