About KG Salon
Katie Godfrey left school at 13 years old due to badly being bullied. Left with no qualifications to her name she wasn't sure what she was going to do. Falling into modeling this boosted her confidence and got her out the house again and meeting people. Modeling truly saved her.
5 years of being in the industry Katie decided to open her own model agency at 18 years old - KG Model Management Ltd.
A good, successful year, Katie really wanted a building where she could hold the agency so they could hold castings and photo-shoots there.
Knowing it wouldn't be able to take the overheads she had to think of another business to have in the same building.
Katie always loved tanning and nails - this was the start of KG Salon.
A beautiful building in the village of Barton Le Clay, at the front a tanning and nail salon and through the back a model agency and studio.
Business took off amazingly - Locals asking for beauty treatments, there was obviously a call for it in the village. Katie had to decide to take on a beautician and train up in treatments herself and made the big decision to close the agency down and turn the space into treatment rooms - It was the best decision made!
Expanding
Four and half years later the salon is going from strength to strength. Being an entrepreneur, Katie always getting itchy feet on what product to bring in next - or what new business to start.
Having a database of thousands of women and from the background of fashion modeling what best to start an Online Fashion Boutique!!
In August 2014 Katie and her Partner Oliver opened KG Fashion Boutique.
Plans to be an online women's clothes website, there has already been a call for a section in the salon where women can "complete the look" Having there treatments done and then complete the look with a new dress or jumper. So at the moment Katie is working on plans to fit this along side in salon. Which is very exciting.
