Kids Crooked House and Extreme Makeover: Home Edition Team for Kids

HOLLYWOOD, Calif., May 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Fifty-six kids at the Kiddies Creative Learning Center have a brand-new Crooked Playhouse and another great reason to run around and play outside thanks to Kids Crooked House and Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. Starting with an impromptu building session at the legendary Hollywood & Highland with "blue shirt" helpers from countries all over the world, Extreme Makeover icons Paul DiMeo and Ed Sanders got Crooked by building a beautiful sky-blue Kids Crooked House playhouse, sleeping in it that night (why not?), then donating it to a group of thrilled children.

On May 12, Paulie and Eddie got started bright and early, harmonica and guitar by their sides, along with their tool belts. Piece by piece, they and dozens of excited helpers started drawing stares from passers-by as they built a Kids Crooked House -- the sort of thing you just can't miss on the streets of Hollywood.  

"We are sincerely grateful to the team from Kids Crooked House for helping us to surprise families all across the country and especially right here at home," said Paul DiMeo, the on-air carpenter with the distinctive square-frame glasses. "They trust us to select families, and we trust them to deliver a cool playhouse."

Then, on May 13, the Kids Crooked House team was thrilled to join Extreme Makeover: Home Edition in delivering the house to Kiddies Creative Learning Center in Los Angeles, who were surprised by a huge delivery right in the middle of their day. The Center caters to families who need subsidized daycare. They currently have 18 infants, 11 school-age kids and 27 pre-schoolers. "When we learned of the incredible services this daycare gives to deserving families, we were inspired to do something very special for them," says Diane Korman, senior producer for the EM:HE. "The Kids Crooked Playhouse will give hundreds of children a place to play for years to come."

Donating the playhouse to this deserving local daycare center wasn't far fetched as Kids Crooked House has recently expanded their playhouse offerings by teaming with businesses including daycare centers, theme parks, retail stores and restaurants by releasing a suite of commercial Crooked play structures to bring kids creative play both inside and out.
