NEW YORK, Sept. 20, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- In honor of Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month, and maintaining its mission of philanthropy, the skincare company Kiehl's Since 1851 embarks on its inaugural Kiehl's LifeRide for Ovarian Cancer Research Fund Alliance.

An extension of Kiehl's LifeRide, this two-day, multi-stop, charity ride takes place in Los Angeles from September 21-22, 2016, to make noise for the cause, and raise funds for the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund Alliance (OCRFA).

Motorcycle riders, led by Chris Salgardo, President, Kiehl's USA, will ride through the LA area, making stops at five Kiehl's stores with OCRFA President & CEO Audra Moran to educate customers on the organization's work. The riders, including actors Gilles Marini, Grant Reynolds, Scott Patterson, and tattoo artist Luke Wessman, will meet Kiehl's customers, and the public is also invited to learn more about OCRFA and contribute to the organization. The ride concludes with a finale at the Kiehl's store in Santa Monica, and Kiehl's $25,000 donation to OCRFA.

OCRFA is the largest global organization dedicated to advancing private ovarian cancer research, advocating for increased federal research and awareness funding and further policies that support women and their families before, during and after a diagnosis. OCRFA unites the ovarian cancer community as one strong voice, propelling the ovarian cancer field forward at an accelerated pace – exactly what is needed at a critical time when specific discoveries are rapidly increasing, but federal research dollars are not keeping pace.
