Kiepersol announces BlindTending competition for Texas bartenders

TYLER, Texas, Aug. 26, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Bartenders from throughout Texas will have a chance to match their reputations and skills as part of the Kiepersol BlindTending Bartenders Competition, which is launching this week and will culminate Tuesday, Nov. 11, with the competitors matching skills in Tyler.

The top three competitors will receive not only bragging rights, but cash, with the top three splitting $10,000 in prize money according to Pierre de Wet, founder of Kiepersol Enterprises.

"We're calling it a BlindTending Challenge because in the semifinal round, the audience will select the best bartenders without seeing them. The finalists out of that group will be in front of the judges who will select the champions. Each bartender will create a signature cocktail using one of our Kiepersol spirits – Dirk's Vodka, Jimmy's Bourbon and Pierre's Rum," said de Wet.

"Besides having a lot of fun, we'll give the state's top bartenders an opportunity to taste and work with all three of our spirits, which we've just begun to distribute statewide," said de Wet. "We especially want to identify and reward top bartenders who define the standard for bartending Texas style, featuring local Texas products – not just our spirits, but also other Texas ingredients. And of course, we want to create more awareness of our products and attractions."

Bartenders have to enter the competition by Sept. 20 by registering at the www.kiepersol.com/blindtending. Then for several weeks, they'll be encouraged to enlist their friends and customers to support them for inclusion in the live event, which will be held Nov. 11 at KE Bushman's Celebration Center, part of the Kiepersol Enterprises destination in Tyler.
