Kikkoman Launches 'Crank Up the Crunch' Panko Recipe Contest

SAN FRANCISCO, Feb. 15, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Kikkoman wants to learn how you "crank up the crunch" with Panko Bread Crumbs and is launching a country-wide recipe contest to find the ultimate crunch master! That's right -- it's looking for the crispiest Mac 'n' Cheese, crunchiest chicken tenders, and the most mouth-watering Apple Crisp.

You can choose one of four categories to enter, so pick your own favorite course and add that extra crunch to your meal:

• Appetizer
• Side dish
• Main dish
• Dessert

The winner from each category will win a $1,000 prize—and have their winning recipes featured on the Kikkoman website, Facebook page and Twitter page. Talk about unlimited bragging rights among friends and family.

Kikkoman will review the recipes and decide on the top entry in each category.  Judging for each entry will be based on the following criteria:

• Product Usage (40%) – the uniqueness and realistic application as to how Kikkoman Panko Bread Crumbs are used in the recipe
• Effectiveness and Taste (30%) – how well the Kikkoman Panko Bread Crumbs contribute to the taste and to the overall dish prepared
• Creativity (30%) – the creativity and originality of the Panko Recipe
