Kim Walls Announces Launch of Best Ever Baby Breastfeeding App for iOS

Designed by Walls, the new easy-to-use app allows new moms to track and log milk production and easily share it with their healthcare providers, supplying them with empowering and necessary data. BEB Baby Journal also provides users with tips and evidence-based information written by credentialed family health experts.

This might be her first app, but Walls is no stranger to the tech sector. She has a long history as an innovator in the ecommerce space, and is currently the General Manager at Lime Crime – the wildly popular, socially conscious, Vegan, and cruelty-free cosmetics brand – where her role includes overseeing the brand's global ecommerce operation.

Walls began creating the app after a board meeting where she was informed that the BEB empowered healthcare providers were requesting that breastfeeding journals be included in the natural and organic breastfeeding kits BEB supplies healthcare providers with to gift to their new parent patients.  The kits are a hallmark of BEB's mission and Walls wanted to ensure they were providing new parents with everything they truly need.

"We were originally asked to add paper journals, but I was working on developing an app with Lime Crime at the time, and immediately realized that an app would be more useful than a paper journal," she continued. "An app would be easier to use for both parents and healthcare professionals while providing a more accurate accounting of data in real time."

BEB Baby Journal is the only breastfeeding app on the market that offers new mothers breastfeeding journaling, data sharing, and expert information both free of charge and completely free of advertising.

The app's lack of advertising is important because hospitals generally do not allow their employees to recommend any specific products or brands, making it a conflict to recommend an app that includes advertising.

"When developing the BEB Baby Journal, our social impact field team worked with the hospitals and professionals directly to provide them with a tool they could truly leverage because it meets all their standards, is free, and helps insulate new parents from the onslaught of unwanted advertising that generally comes with such tools," added Walls.

An ad-free experience was not only important but necessary to Walls because she believes advertising aimed at new parents often spreads misinformation and guilts parents into purchasing products they don't need.

"Big businesses often sell to new parents by indirectly telling them that they are only good parents if they use their products. Debasing the confidence of women for the sake of profit is totally unacceptable," she concluded.  "I want change, and I want to be part of giving everyone the best opportunity in life, beginning with their health and sense of self worth."
