PHOENIX, July 14, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- On Tuesday, June 28, 2011, KinetX, Inc. a Tempe, Arizona based aerospace engineering company of 60 people, was notified by the US Navy that they were selected to be a Prime Contractor for the Department of the Navy, Naval Sea Systems Command SeaPort-e Rolling Admissions solicitation #N00178-11-R-4000; this contracting vehicle is often referred to as SeaPort or SeaPort-e.
SeaPort-e provides an efficient and effective means of contracting for professional support services and enhancing small business participation. The SeaPort-e contractual vehicle provides a mechanism for KinetX to bid on appropriate work, negotiate the scope, and begin work without having to incur the costs of a full solicitation each time, thus decreasing the time to market and the time to cash flow, as well as saving the government considerable money. KinetX was among over 300-small businesses that were selected as Prime Contractors for this opportunity. SeaPort-e is an Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) task order contract valued at $37 billion.
