Kingsford® Charcoal Fires Up the Grill for First Ever "Girls That Grill" Competition

OAKLAND, Calif., May 7, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Kingsford charcoal is celebrating the ingenious and talented women who man the grill at Girls That Grill, the first ever all-female grilling competition taking place today at the Bentonville Film Festival. The competition, located in front of the Arvest Bank building on the Bentonville Square, features five grillers from around the country who have come to vie for the Queen of 'Cue title and winner-take-all $10,000 grand prize.

"We're excited to host today's grilling throw down at the Bentonville Film Festival among so many talented women from film makers, writers and producers to masters of the barbecue," said Lauren Kahn marketing director for Kingsford charcoal. During the competition, hosted by Grill Girl Robyn Lindars, competitors will have one hour and seven ingredients from Walmart to create a delicious barbecued dish for the judges to critique. Including ingredients like meat, fruits and vegetables from Walmart's fresh food assortment, which strives to source ingredients close to their stores and provides a 100 percent money back freshness guarantee. All judging will be blind and the winner will be announced on the main stage at 5:10 p.m.

The women vying for the title, cash prize and bragging rights:

• Nicole Davenport (BBQ Pitmasters 2010, Sugar & Smoke 2012, Chopped 2012)
• Jennifer Duncan (Co-owner of Whiskey Ranch; Contestant on The Food Network's "Chopped")
• Brooke Orrison (Founder and owner of The Shed BBQ & Blues Joint in Ocean Springs, Miss.)
• Lynnae Oxley (Former contestant on BBQ Pitmasters All Stars, season 7)
• Lee Ann Whippen (BBQ Pitmaster and Chef/Partner of Chicago q)

In addition, the competitors will be showcasing their skills on the grill with demonstrations and free samples from 12 – 2 p.m. along with music, games and activities for the entire family to enjoy throughout the day.
