("Kingtone" or the "Company") (Nasdaq: KONE), a China-based software and solutions developer focused on wirelessly enabling businesses and government agencies to more efficiently manage their operations, today announced that it has been selected by China Unicom as industrial application cooperative partner for mobile police solutions as well as mobile news collecting and editing solutions.

China Unicom is one of the three largest telecom operators in China with more than 18.5 million mobile users in 31 provinces. To meet the rapidly growing and diversifying needs of a wide range of industries, expand its product offering and enhance its overall competitiveness, China Unicom started to recruit industry partners in 15 mobile and wireless application service sectors including mobile police, mobile OA, mobile banking, mobile news editing, sales management, environmental monitoring at the beginning of this year. On April 26, 2011, China Unicom held an Awards Ceremony at its headquarters in Beijing to honor 30 nationwide application partners covering these sectors.
