KIPP Dallas-Fort Worth To Open Two New Schools In 2015-2016 School Year
KIPP Truth Elementary and KIPP Destiny Middle School will open doors to nearly 500 students in August 2015 as next step within larger plan to serve 5,000 students in the next few years
DALLAS, Jan. 22, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- KIPP Dallas-Fort Worth (KIPP DFW) announced today its plans to open two new schools in the 2015-2016 school year as the next step in the organization's plan to expand to a total of 10 schools in southern Dallas by 2020 educating 5,000 Pre-K through 12th grade students when fully enrolled. Beginning in the 2015-2016 school year, KIPP Truth Elementary and KIPP Destiny Middle School will open as the region's second elementary and second middle school to total four KIPP DFW schools.

KIPP Destiny Middle School will be adjoined to the existing KIPP Destiny Elementary at 3663 W. Camp Wisdom Rd., Dallas, TX 75237 and will serve 6th grade students in the 2015-2016 school year, adding one grade level per year until it becomes a fully enrolled 5th-8th grade middle school in 2019.
KIPP Truth Elementary School will open at 1545 S. Ewing Ave., Dallas, TX 75216, a newly purchased property that will be renovated and retrofitted to fit the school's needs. The school will serve students in Pre-K through 1st grade in the 2015-2016 school year and will grow to become a fully enrolled Pre-K through 4th grade elementary school by 2019. At full enrollment, these four KIPP schools will serve over 2,200 Pre-K through 8th grade students. KIPP DFW plans to open two additional elementary schools, two additional middle schools and two high schools for a total of ten schools in southern Dallas.
