Knight Expands U.S. Fixed Income Sales and Trading Team
JERSEY CITY, N.J. and GREENWICH, Conn., June 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Knight Capital Group, Inc. (NYSE Euronext: KCG), today announced the appointments of several individuals to the U.S. fixed income sales and trading team across Investment Grade, Emerging Markets, Bank Loans, Distressed and Private Placement. Effective immediately, Richard Coppersmith, Alejandro Gutierrez, Sean Martin, Marjorie McNair, Richard Mercante, Vikram Natarajan, Paul Scotto, Kevin Smyth and Helen Yeager have joined Knight.

Knight provides buy-side firms with research, sales and trading across a broad range of fixed income securities. Knight trades on a client-driven basis in securities that include High Yield/Distressed, Investment Grade/Crossover, Bank Loans, Hybrid Securities, ABS/MBS, Convertibles, Municipals, Taxable Municipals and Corporate/Sovereign Emerging Markets Debt. The fixed income research team generates in-depth reports that span the capital structure of fixed income issuers across 30 sectors in the U.S. and emerging markets.
The additions to Investment Grade, Bank Loans, Distressed and Private Placements report to Sean Dowd and Al Lhota, Managing Directors, Co-Heads of U.S. Credit Sales. Richard Mercante, Paul Scotto, Kevin Smyth and Helen Yeager will be responsible for Investment Grade sales. Vikram Natarajan will head Bank Loans and Distressed trading. Richard Coppersmith will be responsible for Private Placements. Sean Martin will be responsible for trading financials and report to Michael Liebowitz, Managing Director, U.S. Credit Sales and Trading. Alejandro Gutierrez and Marjorie McNair are responsible for global Emerging Markets with a primary focus on Latin American accounts and will report to Daniel Mullineaux, Managing Director, Global Head of Emerging Markets.

Prior to joining Knight, Richard was Executive Vice President at Libra Securities responsible for the private placement group. Previously, Mr. Coppersmith was Senior Vice President at Credit Research responsible for investment grade sales. In his eight years at Goldman Sachs and Co. Richard held various positions in fixed income sales and trading. Previously, he worked for Paine Webber and Lehman Brothers.

Alejandro Gutierrez

Alejandro is a Director responsible for global Emerging Markets sales with a primary focus on Latin American accounts.
Mr. Gutierrez is a former Senior Executive Director and Partner at Atlas One Financial Group, LLC, where the he established an institutional business focused on emerging markets. Previously, Alex was Managing Director Principal, Emerging Markets Fixed Income Sales at Bear, Stearns & Co. Inc. Prior to Bear Stearns, Mr. Gutierrez worked in different emerging markets-oriented roles at Merrill Lynch, Citibank and Eli Lilly and Co.
Alex has a bachelor of arts in business administration from Instituto Tecnologico Autonomo de Mexico (ITAM) and master of business administration in international management from American Graduate School of International Management.

Prior to joining Knight, Mr. Martin was a Director at BTIG where he was a Corporate Bond Trader focusing on the telecom, media and technology (TMT) and utility sectors. Previously, Sean was with UBS Investment Bank for seven years in various roles most recently as an Executive Director and Corporate Bond and Derivative Trader.
Mr. Martin has a bachelor of science in finance and information systems from University of Rhode Island.

Marjorie is a former Senior Managing Director, Emerging Markets Sales at Atlas One Financial Group, LLC where she established an institutional sales team focused on Latin American emerging markets sales. Previously, she was a Managing Director at Bear, Stearns & Co. Inc. responsible for fixed income emerging markets products. Prior to Bear Stearns, Marjorie held various roles in emerging market sales at Deutsche Bank, Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein, Cambridge International Securities, Inc., UBS, AG, and Chemical Bank.
Marjorie has a bachelor of arts in political science and Spanish from Duke University.

In all, Rich spent more than 13 years at AIG in roles that included Head of U.S./London Fixed Income, Head of Core Fixed Income and Head of Investment Grade Fixed Income. Previously, he worked at Dean Witter Intercapital, Salomon Brothers and Smith Barney, Harris Upham.

Vikram spent 12 years in various roles with Credit Suisse including capital markets, distressed trading and co-leading a proprietary desk within Leverage Finance.
