Kozio Receives Patent for Its Invention of an I/O Subsystem Measurement and Characterization Engine Used to Test and Debug Electronic Hardware
LONGMONT, Colo., Oct. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Kozio, Inc. (www.kozio.com) the developer of In-System Diagnostics (ISD), today announced that the United States Patent and Trademark Office has issued patent number 7721260 on May 18, 2010, entitled Embedded Test I/O Engine to Kozio, Inc. This patented technology is a key feature within the kDiagnostics® product and is used for testing input and output paths connected to an embedded processor. It enables users to configure and execute multiple threads of I/O operations to stress test for endurance, reliability and stability without an operating system or other software getting in the way. This patent further underscores the company's strength in ISD and technology related intellectual property (IP).
"Kozio continues to innovate and grow its intellectual property rights portfolio, while delivering rich feature sets that specifically address customer needs," stated Clint Ostrander, President and CEO, Kozio, Inc. "With this patented technology, design engineers now have a tool for measuring the true performance of an embedded design, independent of the product's final application."
I/O Engine
The I/O Engine is a feature of kDiagnostics and is configured via scripted test parameters to emulate various loads while exercising multiple I/O interconnects with minimal overhead. kDiagnostics requires no additional software, operating system or drivers, providing a minimal, clean environment for isolating a design's true performance. This feature is ideal for stressing the system while testing data, validity and completing certification testing. No host is required to generate I/O operations, and no target devices are required, although they can be used.
About Kozio Technology
In-System Diagnostics (ISD) is a powerful new technology for comprehensive verification and validation of electronic products. Unlike other verification and validation methods, it runs at-speed on actual hardware and replaces customized test procedures with a standardized extensible solution that significantly accelerates hardware test time. The core of ISD consists of an embedded interpreter and extensive test library that isolates and functionally evaluates device performance at-speed, against engineering design specifications, and over an extended operating range. It installs on bare silicon, is not an OS, and verifies hardware designs without scheduler interrupts or other OS-induced perturbations that may influence hardware performance and/or obscure the source of faults.
Availability
The I/O Engine feature within Kozio's kDiagnostics is immediately available.
Kozio provides packaged solutions for hardware validation and circuit board testing to leading edge customers across the globe. Our tools are constructed from a library of over a million lines of proven diagnostic code that has been run thousands of times, on hundreds of designs throughout the whole product life cycle. Comprehensive hardware design validations are performed in minutes, not weeks, accelerating time-to-market with reduced risk and better allocation of engineering resources. Whether your application is in Engineering, Manufacturing, or In-Field test, Kozio is the trusted leader in In-System Diagnostics and your fastest path to reliable hardware.
