LONGMONT, Colo., April 9, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Kozio, Inc. (www.kozio.com), the leading provider of software solutions for embedded hardware design verification and production test, today announced the release of the Verification and Test OS (VTOS™) Standard and Advanced Packages for i.MX 6 series processors from Freescale Semiconductor. With the VTOS i.MX 6 MPU Packages and VTOS Builder, users can configure VTOS for i.MX 6 MPU based designs. VTOS is user configurable and does not require porting.  Once configured, VTOS is a design specific hardware test platform downloadable through a number of methods including a boot loader and JTAG. VTOS combines over 300 functional tests, scripting, in-system programming and command line access to all devices.  VTOS also seamlessly transitions to the production test floor saving time and lowering test development costs.

I/O multiplexing is a powerful i.MX 6 series feature that VTOS fully supports. As part of this release, VTOS supports the storage and loading of multiple IOMUX files. The IOMUX module was designed to minimize a device's pin count to keep the package cost and complexity down by providing a configurable switch matrix between on-chip signals and the external system.

"i.MX 6 series users can now quickly explore and debug their designs using VTOS.  With over 300 functional tests, VTOS is a cost effective way to improve design quality and lower production costs." stated Bob Potock, Vice President, Kozio, Inc. "Kozio's VTOS environment has been proven with hundreds of designs, and continues to be used by many Fortune 500 companies in engineering and on the production test floor."

About VTOS Technology

At the foundation of Kozio's embedded design verification and production test solutions is the industry's first special-purpose OS architected exclusively for embedded design verification and production test. VTOS provides a hardware test platform that includes functional tests, scripting and interactive debug.  VTOS is delivered as a binary package specific to the customer's processor family, which can be quickly configured for your embedded hardware– porting is not required. Configured binaries can be downloaded by the bootloader (U-boot) or via JTAG. VTOS is built to span the hardware lifecycle from design, to production, to field-based power-on self-test.  VTOS Suite provides an out-of-the-box solution that can save up to 75% of test program development costs.
