Kozio releases Verification and Test OS (VTOS™) support for Freescale Semiconductor's i.MX 6 series MPUs based on the ARM® Cortex™ - A9 architecture

(www.kozio.com), the leading provider of software solutions for embedded hardware design verification and production test, today announced the release of the Verification and Test OS (VTOS™) Standard and Advanced Packages for i.MX 6 series processors from Freescale Semiconductor. With the VTOS i.MX 6 MPU Packages and VTOS Builder, users can configure VTOS for i.MX 6 MPU based designs. VTOS is user configurable and does not require porting.  Once configured, VTOS is a design specific hardware test platform downloadable through a number of methods including a boot loader and JTAG. VTOS combines over 300 functional tests, scripting, in-system programming and command line access to all devices.  VTOS also seamlessly transitions to the production test floor saving time and lowering test development costs.

I/O multiplexing is a powerful i.MX 6 series feature that VTOS fully supports. As part of this release, VTOS supports the storage and loading of multiple IOMUX files. The IOMUX module was designed to minimize a device's pin count to keep the package cost and complexity down by providing a configurable switch matrix between on-chip signals and the external system.
