LONGMONT, Colo., April 23, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Kozio, Inc. (www.kozio.com), the leading provider of software solutions for embedded hardware design verification and production test, today announced the release of a Verification and Test OS (VTOS™) for Intel's 4th generation processors, Haswell™ and Haswell Mobile ULT. Haswell designs can now experience the benefits of VTOS in engineering, production and field deployment. VTOS combines over 300 functional tests, scripting, in-system programming and command line access to provide a unique and powerful solution for embedded hardware design verification and test.
VTOS can be utilized in engineering, production and the field providing a consistent and repeatable test strategy and coverage for each lifecycle phase. Engineering can accelerate the time to OS boot for new prototypes while production can address the declining structural test coverage being realized by ICT and Boundary Scan. On the production test floor, Haswell designs can now benefit from an embedded test phase which complements ICT and Boundary Scan while improving the predictability of a successful OS boot. In the field, unnecessary and costly board returns can be avoided with a VTOS power-on self-test that can be shipped with your product.
VTOS provides a test and debug solution that supports DDR memory, processor functions (interrupt handling, timer services, etc.), UARTs, I2C devices, SPI devices, USB devices, PCI Express devices and more. Board Scan, a VTOS test capability, executes a scan detecting defective devices in a matter of seconds.
"Kozio is proud to be an Intel Intelligent Systems Alliance Premier partner for their 4th generation processors." stated Bob Potock, Vice President, Kozio, Inc. "We will continue to work with Intel and their customers to provide Haswell solutions to maximize hardware design quality and lower production costs."
About VTOS Technology
At the foundation of Kozio's embedded design verification and production test solutions is the industry's first special-purpose OS architected exclusively for embedded design verification and production test. VTOS provides a hardware test platform that includes functional tests, scripting and interactive debug. VTOS is delivered as a binary package specific to the customer's processor family, which can be quickly configured for your embedded hardware– porting is not required. Configured binaries can be downloaded by the bootloader or via JTAG. VTOS is built to span the hardware lifecycle from design, to production, to field-based power-on self-test. VTOS Suite provides an out-of-the-box solution that can save up to 75% of test program development costs.
Kozio's VTOS Suite packages for Intel Haswell, Intel Haswell Mobile ULT and Intel Architecture 4th Generation Processors are available immediately. For more information, go to http://www.kozio.com/VTOS.
About Kozio, Inc.
Kozio is the leading provider of software solutions for embedded hardware design verification and production test. Kozio's technology includes a Verification and Test OS (VTOS) - a packaged solution that combines a special purpose OS with a comprehensive peripheral and processor functional test library. VTOS provides a powerful, user configurable verification environment for boot, functional test execution, file transfer and interactive debug. VTOS is designed specifically for the purpose of embedded hardware design verification to ensure design correctness, performance and reliability. VTOS replaces the traditional methods of creating one-off test programs or using the application OS as the hardware test platform. VTOS can also be utilized in production test and field power-on self-test, making the technology transferable within an organization.
