LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J., Aug. 19, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The 2014 Special Olympics USA Games announced today KPMG LLP, the audit, tax, and advisory firm, has signed on as a Founding Partner of the 2014 USA Games and will be the Presenting Sponsor of the Games' Golf Competition, which will be held at Mercer Oaks in West Windsor, NJ. KPMG has renewed its commitment to Special Olympics North America as Presenting Sponsor of the 2013 Golf Invitational at the Stockton Seaview Resort in Galloway, NJ on October 17-20. As part of KPMG's partnership, KPMG will also support the Special Olympics Team USA Golfers that will be attending the 2015 Special Olympics World Summer Games in Los Angeles, CA.

Nearly 3,500 athletes will travel to New Jersey for the 2014 Special Olympics USA Games to compete in 16 Olympic-style team and individual sports, with the support of 1,000 coaches, 10,000 volunteers and an anticipated 70,000 spectators. The 2014 USA Games will celebrate the Special Olympics movement, promote the ideals of acceptance and inclusion through sport and showcase the abilities of athletes with intellectual disabilities. The 2014 USA Games will be staged throughout Mercer County, NJ including competitions at Princeton University, Rider University, The College of New Jersey and Mercer County Park, with the Opening Ceremony taking place at the Prudential Center in Newark. The Golf Competition will be held at Mercer Oaks Golf Club, part of Mercer County Park Commission, which offers two championship courses built in traditional style with tree lined fairways, ample bunkers and challenging greens.

KPMG will also be the Presenting Sponsor of the 2013 Special Olympics North America Golf Invitational taking place October 17-20 at the Stockton Seaview Resort in Galloway, N.J. Over 200 athletes and 50 coaches will compete at the only golf and spa resort on the New Jersey Shore. KPMG has been the Presenting Sponsor for the North America Golf Invitational since 2009 and was also a sponsor of the 2010 Special Olympics National Games in Nebraska.
