Krispy Kreme to Open Neighborhood Shop in Jeffersontown

JEFFERSONTOWN, Ky., July 8 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Doughnut lovers in J-Town and the surrounding communities will be excited to learn that Krispy Kreme Doughnut Corporation will open a new Krispy Kreme Neighborhood Shop at 9569 Taylorsville Road in the Jeffersontown Commons shopping center. The new location is Krispy Kreme's first in the east end of Louisville. The grand opening will be held on the company's 73rd birthday – Tuesday, July 13.

"We are excited to expand our presence to the east end, and we look forward to the continued success of our new, smaller retail shops. J-Town's new Neighborhood Shop will allow us to continue to bring our signature products closer to consumers, and offer the Krispy Kreme value and experience to our loyal fans in this area."

The 2,000-square-foot Neighborhood Shop will create 20 new jobs in J-Town. The store will be open Sundays through Thursdays from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Fridays and Saturdays from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Chance to Win Year's Supply of Doughnuts

On opening day, Krispy Kreme's Neighborhood Shop will open its doors at 6 a.m. The first customer to enter the store will receive a year's supply of doughnuts – one dozen Original Glazed® doughnuts every week for a year. The next 11 customers will each receive one dozen Original Glazed doughnuts every month for a year; and the first 100 customers will receive an official Krispy Kreme J-Town T-shirt.  The first drive-through customer will also win one dozen Original Glazed doughnuts every month for a year, and the next 11 customers in the drive-through will each win an official Krispy Kreme J-Town T-shirt. Customers can also enjoy free Kool Kreme® soft serve samples, and other Krispy Kreme treats throughout the day.

Opening day activities will also include the ceremonial cutting of a ribbon of doughnuts at 10:30 a.m., and will feature local elected officials, community business leaders and Krispy Kreme executives.  Customers at the J-Town store will enjoy Krispy Kreme's unique offerings, including its one-of-a-kind doughnut varieties; signature coffees and espresso drinks; Kool Kreme® soft serve menu; and Krispy Kreme Chillers® and iced beverages. Customers can also enjoy a few Krispy Kreme specialties, including Krispy Kreme's signature doughnut sundaes available in chocolate cake, strawberry cake and Original Glazed; and an Arctic Avalanche®, which combines Kool Kreme with a candy mix-in.

Community Invited to Participate in Pre-Opening Contests

To celebrate Krispy Kreme's 73rd birthday, the public is invited to participate in a doughnut birthday cake creation contest. Participants are asked to create birthday cakes using Krispy Kreme doughnuts.  Also, Krispy Kreme will hide 12 Krispy Kreme T-shirts at locations throughout J-Town, in advance of the July 13 opening.
