Ku6 Media Acquires Copyright Entertainment Content from Major Hollywood Studios

BEIJING, Sept. 16 /PRNewswire-Asia-FirstCall/ -- Ku6 Media Co., Ltd. ("Ku6") (Nasdaq: KUTV), a leader in online video portal operations in China, today announced that Ku6 has reached content cooperation agreements with Sony Pictures Television and another major Hollywood studio. Those agreements make Ku6 the first Chinese local video portal to acquire legitimate copyright content from major Hollywood studios.

In December 2009, Ku6 was the first Chinese video portal to delete pirated contents posted by its users and also established the "International Film & TV Co-Acquisition Fund" with Sohu.com with an initial funding of US$10 million. These efforts, plus exclusive partnership agreements with well known local film and TV producers such as Huayi and Hairun, etc., won recognition for Ku6's copyright protection policy from the world's copyright owners and administrative authorities.
