KubeTech Custom Molding, Inc. established as new company providing custom molding solutions

PITTSBURGH, Jan. 2, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The establishment of the new company KubeTech Custom Molding, Inc. was announced today.  Formerly the Home and Personal Care (HPC) business unit of Rexam, a global consumer packaging company, KubeTech provides custom molding solutions to some of the largest consumer products companies in the world and maintains its position as a North American leader in cube and stack injection mold design, development and production.

Steve Wirrig, former HPC Managing Director, has been appointed as CEO of KubeTech Custom Molding, Inc., which is headquartered in Pittsburgh.  The company has approximately 500 employees and operates in five manufacturing sites in North America and one site in Poland.  

KubeTech's stand-alone company status comes in coordination with the closing of the divestiture of Rexam's Personal Care businesses to an affiliate of private investment firm Sun Capital Partners, Inc.  The sale included Rexam's HPC business, and the Cosmetics and Rexam Plastic Packaging Asia businesses. The latter two businesses are being integrated with Sun Capital's existing affiliated portfolio company Albea, a leading personal and oral care consumer packaging company.
