Kuwaiti Prime Minister Holds Meeting to Discuss Development Plan
KUWAIT CITY, Kuwait, March 19 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah held a meeting yesterday to discuss the state's annual and five-year development plans.
In a speech to kick off the meeting, His Highness Sheikh Nasser said that the state's development plan was a "plan for the nation" and not limited to certain institutions, because "we are all partners in this country."
On the table for discussion were the mechanisms and tools to see through the eight development plans awaiting execution, ways to monitor private contractors involved in the government's plans, means to measure failure and success as well as the mechanisms to allocate the right amount of funding. It was also decided that a nationwide public awareness campaign would be conducted -- through media, forums and conferences -- in order to involve the public in the implementation of the plans.
According to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), the meeting was attended by ministers, members of the Higher Council for Planning, head of the Audit Bureau, and the chairman and members of the Municipal Council. This was the first time that top state officials were present at the same time.
