Kyochon Chicken Reopens First Overseas Store in LA "Mid-Wilshire"
Reborn as a Future-Oriented Store with Tradition and Innovation
LOS ANGELES, Sept. 19, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- The very first overseas Kyochon store opened in 2007 now returns with a new system blending tradition and innovation. Introducing premium craft beer "Moonbear" for the first time in the U.S.—marking Kyochon's bold move to expand further into the American dining market.
Kyochon Chicken, Korea's leading fried chicken franchise operated by Kyochon F&B, announced the reopening of its Los Angeles "Mid-Wilshire" location after approximately seven months of renovation on the 15th.
The Mid-Wilshire location holds symbolic meaning as the very first overseas Kyochon branch opened in 2007, marking the brand's global debut. Located in the heart of Koreatown, this branch has served as a gateway, introducing Korean fried chicken to countless visitors to LA.
Through this renovation, Kyochon has reinforced its brand identity and store competitiveness by blending Korean traditional aesthetics with modernized interiors and implementing automated operating systems.
The new "Kyochon House" concept combines Korea's traditional beauty with modern technology. Inspired by the "Kyochon Pilbang" studio in Itaewon, the store incorporates design elements that represent the brand philosophy. A large "brush" sculpture symbolizing Kyochon's values of "authenticity" and "sincerity" has been installed as a focal piece, while LED pillars highlight Kyochon's signature sauces and core ingredients, visually telling the brand story throughout the space.
A Leap Forward with Technology and Premium Craft Beer
For improved store efficiency, Kyochon has introduced advanced automation technologies. Kitchen operations now use automated fryers and dishwashing robots, while serving robots deliver food to tables. These changes not only reduce labor costs but also ensure the consistent quality and taste of Kyochon Chicken.
In addition, the store has introduced Kyochon's premium craft beer "Moonbear" for the first time in the U.S. market. With automated beer dispensers and serving robots featuring character designs, the store reflects the preferences of global consumers seeking fun and differentiated dining experiences. Through this, Kyochon aims to promote "K-ChiMaek" (Korean fried chicken and beer) culture more widely while strengthening its competitive edge.
Comments from Kyochon F&B Global HQ Won Hun-seok, Head of Kyochon F&B's Global Business Division, stated:
"The LA Mid-Wilshire branch is a symbolic space that marked the beginning of Kyochon's global expansion. With this renovation, we are introducing a next-generation model that embodies our brand philosophy and innovative systems. This will serve as the foundation for Kyochon's future-oriented stores worldwide."
Kyochon Chicken is continuing its strategy of localized branding in major global markets including the U.S., China, and Southeast Asia. With the reopening of the Mid-Wilshire store, the company plans to further expand its footprint in the U.S. restaurant market.
