Laborers' District Council Reaches Milestone Partnership Agreement with Norristown Medical Marijuana Applicant

NORRISTOWN, Pa., June 13, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Laborers' District Council of the Metropolitan Area of Philadelphia and Vicinity and Elemental Health Group (EHG) today announced a milestone partnership for a proposal to build and operate a medical marijuana grow processing facility in Montgomery County.

A signed Memorandum of Understanding between the Laborers' District Council of the Metropolitan Area of Philadelphia and Vicinity, Laborers Local Union No. 135 and EHG marks a Pennsylvania medical marijuana industry milestone and ensures a diverse, union workforce will build EHG's state-of-the-art facility, if approved later this month.

In March, the municipality of Norristown passed a zoning ordinance to permit medical marijuana facilities in industrial areas. The EHG site meets the new zoning qualifications and has received strong support from the local community.
