Lake Como Summer School, an experience of "Italian Style" in a romantic garden of Eden, will open in the summer of 2013
GRIANTE CADENABBIA, Italy, March 19, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Adenauer, the legendary first chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany had his summer residence at Villa la Collina, one of Europes most beautiful spots, overlooking the Lake in Northern Italy.
The first multi subject Summer School for adults in Italy is on Lake Como. A unique opportunity to spend a week on a high-level cultural holiday where you can free your mind, make new friends, investigate interesting subjects for which there hasn't been time before. All of this whilst experiencing the Bel Paese in an enchanting spot favoured by the german statesman Adenauer but even before him by Queen Victoria, Tsar Nicolas II of Russia, Stendhal, Franz Liszt, Giuseppe Verdi.... George Clooney also considers Lake Como his corner of paradise, his summer residence is here at Villa l'Oleandra.
From the 7th-21st july 2013 the historic Villa la Collina (erstwhile summer residence of Konrad Adenauer and now the home of the Foundation named after the first german chancellor) set in one of the most panoramic points on Lake Como - in Temezzina, in front of Bellagio opens its doors and gardens to the world for the first time to host the first multi disciplinary Summer School in Italy.
Lake Como Summer School is a unique experience, open to all, which brings together the great european tradition of Summer Schools with Italy's great cultural heritage: literature, visual arts, music, the architecture of the Villas and gardens of Lake Como (which have already been important film sets) but also cooking, golf, learn to fly seaplane, trekking and walking through panoramic landscapes, singing, painting and art course all set in a unique context embued with the italian spirit.
The Adenauer Foundation owners of the villa have agreed to host the summer school in order to allow their corner of paradise to be known through courses held entirely in english run by tutors who have been chosen not only for their professional competence but also for their ability to transmit their love of their subject.
Lake Como Summer School offers residential and non residential, one and two week courses. Courses are held both in the morning and/or in the afternoon, many include field trips in the local area. It is also the perfect family holiday: at the same time that course students are emerging themselves in italian culture, younger guests can play and enjoy new experiences in the care of Summer School Junior.
