Lake Toback Attorney Honored With Prestigious Service Award
Pro Bono Partnership With Chicago Firm Will Be Recognized This Month

Hamann, Esq., will be presented with the Award for Excellence in Pro Bono Service for his work in Salazar-Garcia V. Galvan-Pinelo, a case that dealt with interpretation of Mexican law in relation to the Hague Convention.
Hamann will receive the award at the Seventeenth Annual Excellence in Pro Bono and Public Interest Service Award Ceremony on Wednesday, May 25, 2016.

The Federal Judge on the case, Hon. Edmond E. Chang, nominated the attorneys on both sides for their impressive pro bono work throughout the extensive litigation. The case was an international custody dispute regarding which country, Mexico or the United States, had jurisdiction and whether the child at issue was properly in the US.
Along with Hamann, Marc Kadish and Joseph Callahan from the law firm of Mayer Brown, will also be recognized with the award. Mayer Brown was appointed by the Court as pro bono attorneys for the defendant and asked Lake Toback to co-counsel, due to their expertise in family law.
