Lancope Achieves New Corporate Milestones and Record Revenue Growth for Network Performance and Security Monitoring in 2010
Leader in NetFlow Collection and Analysis Garners Significant Fortune 100 Customer Wins and Increased Demand for Award-Winning StealthWatch System
ATLANTA, Jan. 31, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Lancope, Inc., a leader in flow-based security and network performance monitoring, today announced that it achieved significant corporate milestones in 2010, including a ninth consecutive quarter of profitability and a fifty percent increase in new business bookings over 2009. The company signed 28 new customers, as companies around the world increasingly realize the benefits of leveraging flow data for network performance and security monitoring. New wins in 2010 included one of the world's largest aerospace companies, one of the world's largest networking equipment providers and one of the 10 largest asset based banks in the United States.
The foundation of Lancope's success lies in its award-winning StealthWatch System, which cost-effectively leverages NetFlow™ and other flow data from existing routers and switches to help Global 2,000 companies maintain secure, high-performing networks.
"Technology trends including globalization, virtualization, IT consumerization and user mobility are adding exponential layers of complexity and traffic volume to corporate networks," said Mike Potts, president and CEO of Lancope. "In these challenging times, network and security teams continue to turn to Lancope for the borderless network visibility and actionable insight required to detect and resolve a wide range of network and security issues."
In 2010, Lancope expanded its StealthWatch product line with the launch of two new FlowSensor appliances. FlowSensors extend network visibility into areas that lack inherent flow data. The new FlowSensor3000 and FlowSensor250 enable IT teams to generate and monitor flow records for 10G networks and remote/branch offices, respectively, further extending the value of StealthWatch across the enterprise.
The Lancope leadership team also expanded in 2010 with the appointment of Mike Potts as president and CEO. Potts brings more than 20 years of experience in the enterprise and security software industries. In addition, Lancope expanded its advisory board with the appointment of well-known retail technology veteran Paul Butka, proprietor of the retail information management and consulting firm PB Retail Advisors, LLC. Lancope also recently launched new Customer and Federal Advisory Board Councils consisting of more than 35 members including AirTran Airways, Cisco, Concord Hospital, Grafisch Lyceum Rotterdam and several United States Department of Defense and civilian agencies.
The industry has responded very positively to Lancope's recent success. Enterprise Management Associates named Lancope's StealthWatch the best joint security and network management solution for 2010. Additionally, Network Products Guide honored Lancope with the 'Best Products and Services Award' and Network Computing and Computing Security magazines named StealthWatch the 2010 'Network Security Solution of the Year.' In addition to these accolades, the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office granted Lancope its fourth U.S. patent for innovative advancements in network performance and security technology using flows.
"Last year marked an era of outstanding growth and achievement for Lancope," said Potts. "With more than 500 customers and a comprehensive line of products and services, Lancope is now poised for another record year. We expect to announce many new customer acquisitions, further enhancements to our StealthWatch platform and continued momentum in the higher education, healthcare and government industries in 2011."
