Landstar Earns Quest for Quality Awards from Logistics Management
JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Aug. 8, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- (NASDAQ: LSTR) Landstar System, Inc., a non-asset based provider of integrated supply chain solutions delivering safe, specialized transportation and logistics services, is proud to announce that Landstar has been recognized as one of the leading transportation logistics providers in the industry in Logistics Management's 2012 Quest for Quality Awards Survey.
Landstar received three 2012 Quest for Quality Awards, ranking second in the Dry Freight Carriers category, fifth among Industrial & Heavy Haul Carriers, and fourth in the Third Party Logistics category.
Each year since 1983, Logistics Management has surveyed a representative sample of its readers to evaluate the transportation logistics service providers that they use. More than 4,700 buyers of transportation and logistics services cast their votes for the carriers and 3PLs providing outstanding service performance over the past year. "Providers must receive a minimum number of reader responses to qualify for a win—at least five percent of the total base for the category," according to the magazine.
The survey ranks transportation service providers on five key criteria: On-time Performance, Value, Information Technology, Customer Service, and Equipment & Operations. A different set of criteria is used to judge companies in the third-party category. Third-party logistics providers are rated on the following attributes: Carrier Selection & Negotiation, Order Fulfillment, Transportation & Distribution, Inventory Management, and Logistics Information Systems.
