Large-Scale Roof Raising For Trexlertown Urban Air
Intricate construction job will slice building horizontally, raise roof eight feet to fit equipment for indoor amusement park
LEHIGH VALLEY, Pa., June 16, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- To meet the physical space needs of the new Urban Air indoor amusement park at 6900 Hamilton Boulevard in Trexlertown, PA (the former location of Trexlertown Bon-Ton), Iron Hill Company will perform a major roof raising event on Wednesday, June 17 between 11 am – 1 pm. Cedar Realty Trust is conducting the massive 60,000-square-foot roof raising in collaboration with Urban Air and Iron Hill Company, adding vital vertical space that will enable the amusement park to function. A rare and complicated construction technique, the roof raising marks the culmination of months of preparation put in by Cedar and Iron Hill to secure the necessary approvals for the job.
We are writing to invite you to the roof raising event that will occur between 11 am – 1 pm. Social distancing measures and proper safety guidelines will be in place. We will provide lunch and refreshments, and will have corporate sponsors attending.
The roof raising, which will take a total of some eight hours, will lift the entire 60,000-square-foot roof by eight feet. When the facility opens in October, the Allentown community will gain a much-needed entertainment venue that will include attractions such as trampolines, sky rider zip line, rock climbing, warrior course and a massive two story indoor electric Go-Kart course. The facility will also offer childcare options.
