Laser Light Engines Names Bob Lambert to Board of Directors

SALEM, N.H., Sept. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Laser Light Engines (LLE), a developer and manufacturer of ultra-high brightness, laser-driven light sources, announced today it has named Bob Lambert to its Board of Directors.  

Lambert served as a senior executive of The Walt Disney Company for 25 years. As Senior Vice President, Worldwide Technology Strategy and Development, he was challenged with looking "down the road and around the corner" to help guide one of the world's most innovative and forward-thinking companies to successfully engage in new business strategies.  Lambert and his team pioneered award-winning digital landscape transitions and strategies in film, television, e-commerce, social media, and emerging consumer media, often partnering with competitors and parallel industries to create new sea-change opportunities.  His group drove innovation in content production and distribution, including initiating the company's long term successful collaboration with Pixar and the development of a completely new digital film production process which garnered an Academy Award for Scientific and Technical Achievement.

Lambert was a founder and served as chairman of DCI, LLC the six-studio digital cinema consortium that has successfully pioneered the transition of more than 10,000 theatres from film to digital worldwide.  In his role as a digital cinema industry leader, he served as a co-author of "Understanding Digital Cinema," a comprehensive resource on all aspects of finishing, distributing and displaying film digitally.

Also during Lambert's career at the Walt Disney Company, he served as President of Technology Operations & Licensing, and chair of Disney's interdivisional technology board, mapping technology and innovation approaches for film, television, theme parks, consumer goods, and online offerings, in conjunction with Disney's 175 worldwide business units and technology partners.  As Disney's highest ranking corporate technology strategy executive, Lambert led initiatives regarding strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions diligence, intellectual property and patent strategy, inter-industry relations, standards and regulatory work, and technology talent recruitment.

Prior to joining Disney, Lambert was held technology development positions with Paramount Pictures and Western Technologies, a consumer products and entertainment technology design firm.  As an inventor, Lambert holds 30 domestic and international patents in media and related technologies.  

Dedicated to advancing technology for entertainment and media applications, Lambert serves on the advisory boards of USC, Virginia Tech, the American Film Institute, and the National Academy of Science.  He also supports two non-profit organizations, the Starlight/Starbright Foundation, and InventNow, an organization devoted to promoting innovation, creativity, and invention in elementary and high school students.
