At the time he noted that the tragedy appeared similar to a bleacher railing collapse that occurred in 1998 at Philadelphia's Veteran's Stadium (long demolished) during the Army-Navy Game. His client, a cadet who almost died in that disaster, settled his personal injury-negligence lawsuit in the case for $1.05 million.
