Lawyer vs Hotdog: New York Attorney Celebrates 'National Hot Dog Day' Outside New York Courthouse
NEW YORK, July 19, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- New York attorney Michael Kaplen, of De Caro & Kaplen, LLP, took a break from court to satisfy his stomach, and celebrate National Hot Dog day.
In a light hearted new video posted to the firm's YouTube channel, a sharply dressed Michael is seen approaching the hot dog stand outside New York's courthouse.
But instead of asking the vendor for one hot dog, the hungry lawyer gestures to the vendor that he would instead like two.
"The only thing better than one hot dog, is two hot dogs," said Michael of his decision.
It is not unusual to witness individuals dressed as lawyers visiting the hotdog stand outside New York's Supreme courthouse. But many of them may carry an equity card, rather than a license to practice law.
The New York eatery is regularly frequented by the cast of US legal drama Law and Order. In 2014 A list actor Alec Baldwin was snapped munching down a hotdog while filming a cameo for the hit show.
Michael joked, "If a hot dog is good enough for Alec Baldwin, then it's good enough for me."
Promoted by The National Hot Dog and Sausage Council of America, 'National Hot Dog Day' is timed to coincide with the American Meat Institute's annual hot dog lunch on Capitol Hill, which this year takes place on Wednesday 19th July.
The hot dog lunch will see more than 1,000 members of Congress, Administration officials, journalists and lobbyists gather for a huge hot dog picnic.
Aside from munching on hot dogs, brain injury law specialists De Caro & Kaplen, LLP were recently inducted into the The National Trial Lawyers: Brain Injury Trial Lawyers Association Top 25.
