Lawyers Associated Worldwide (LAW) is a global association of 110 independent law firms located in more than 150 major commercial centres throughout the world. Membership in LAW allows member firms to service the legal needs of clients that are expanding their operations and relationships into new domestic and foreign markets because of the increasing globalization of the business world.

As the world's economy continues to affect law firms' clients, the AGM will address a number of relevant economic and industry issues. Carolina Ribeiro Falzoni, CFA, Portfolio Manager at Credit Suisse Hedging-Griffo in Sao Paulo will speak on the "Economy of BRIC Countries." LAW members from Brazil, Russia, India and China will participate in a panel on "Challenges of Doing Business in the BRIC Countries." The LAW member from Greece will share his experience in "Doing Business in Hard Times."

International marketing expert and lawyer, Ross Fishman of Fishman Marketing in Chicago, Illinois, USA will be the keynote speaker regarding "Increasing Your Firm's Visibility for Effective Marketing." Fishman has recently completed an international survey on law firm marketing practices. He also will be presenting recent case studies in law firm marketing from firms in Brazil and Iceland.

Additionally, Latin American members from Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela are introducing their new publication "2011 Doing Business in Latin America." The guide will be updated annually and will be available for LAW clients and interested parties who want to learn more about doing business in nearly 15 Latin American countries.

"Latin America is one of the cornerstones of LAW, and for good reason," says Bill Savarino, LAW's Chairman from Washington, D.C. "It is a place of impressive economic performance and strong opportunity, which is a good match for the many business clients of LAW members. We take great pride in our outstanding LAW members in Latin America, none more so than Lacaz Martins firm in Brazil. It takes a dynamic law firm like Lacaz Martins to meet the diverse legal needs of such a thriving economy. I am not only looking forward to seeing my good friends at Lacaz Martins, I am excited about visiting one of the world's most beautiful cities. If it is good enough to host the 2014 World Cup and the 2016 Olympics, no doubt it will be a great venue for the 2011 LAW AGM."
