NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., May 31, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Layn Corp announced today it is on target to complete a new production facility and Global Sweetener Innovation Center by August 2017. Construction of the state-of-the-art facility began in January 2015. The facility effectively more than quadruples Layn's current annual volume of both stevia and monk fruit extract and provides Layn with the largest capacity of vertically integrated natural sweetener production globally.
The technology and equipment used in the facility offer improved yields, increased consistency and important advantages in waste reduction and overall sustainability. Layn's new facility will produce both powder extract and liquid concentrate formats of various high purity natural sweeteners with a focus on proprietary blends.
Layn's Global Innovation Center will open in Shanghai and employ a team of approximately 15 people. New sweetener and flavor development, customer formulation and application support and patents for new ingredients and processes are the focus of this center. The center will act as a headquarters for Layn's existing formulation and product development team in North America.
