Lazar Joins WPP Global Team Ford

DEARBORN, Mich., Jan. 10, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- WPP Group's Team Detroit has appointed Betsy Lazar to the position of Executive Vice President, Chief Media Officer of Team Detroit, it was announced today.

Team Detroit is WPP Group's global agency group servicing Ford Motor Company.  Lazar was most recently at Kellogg's Company, where she spent three years as Vice President, Global Media.  There she had global media oversight, elevating the company's media and digital marketing capabilities through seamless integration between traditional and digital media.

"Betsy is an industry veteran with a diverse marketing and advertising background as well as deep automotive experience," said Mark LaNeve, chief operating officer for Team Detroit.  "This is a real coup for the global Ford account team and we're thrilled to have her."

Prior to joining Kellogg's, Lazar was executive director, Advertising and Media Operations at General Motors Corporation where she played a key role in driving digital strategy. She also led their CRM practice, implementing a leading global digital search capability, while managing all other aspects of the organization's U.S. media operations.

Lazar began her career on the agency side, serving in various media roles including J. Walter Thompson, where she worked as a media planner. She then served in various supervisory positions on Ford Car and Truck – helping to launch the all new Taurus and Aerostar.

Lazar is a graduate of Western Michigan University with a bachelor's degree in Marketing, she also earned a master's degree in business from Wayne State University.  Betsy is an active member of the Association of National Advertisers, and served as board member for five years.  She is also a former board member of the Adcraft Club of Detroit.
