LCS Constructors, Inc. Completes TPC Technical Center

HOUSTON, Aug. 25, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- LCS Constructors, Inc. (LCS) recently completed construction of a new 19,500 square foot laboratory facility for TPC Group ("the Company").

LCS, a team of general contractors specializing in laboratory and technical facilities, broke ground on a new Technical Center for TPC Group at its Houston operation in September 2010. The design-build project consists of a combined quality control (QC) and research and development (R&D) laboratory that will serve the growing needs of the Company and its commitment to provide quality products in the marketplace.

The facility design maximizes energy efficiency in the application of the HVAC and exhaust systems as well as outfitting the entire QC/R&D laboratory with all specialty gases and laboratory casework and fume hoods. The new laboratory building also includes a customer showroom, conference room and administrative offices.

Additionally, the Technical Center includes custom enclosures for development units which serve as a lab-scale version of a chemical processing system in order to reduce the risk associated with implementation of process improvements in a larger chemical processing plant. These smaller versions of the actual plant provide information and data valuable to evaluate new processes and continued development of process improvements.

The investment made by TPC Group into this Technical Center was an integral milestone in the Company's continuous commitment to operational excellence. Worker safety, productivity and process efficiency will all be enhanced by state-of-the-art technology and design reflected in this LCS constructed laboratory. The newly designed building also includes space for additional equipment to promote new process development and strategic growth projects.
