"The mobile health unit we are displaying at RSNA is a great opportunity for buyers to get a close look at a truly commercial mobile mammography vehicle. The real differentiator is that our units are designed to provide years and years of commercial use. What we've found is that the market has really evolved over the years and we're seeing buyers that have owned RV's and coaches in the past, who now recognize the importance of a heavy-duty commercial solution," said Ed Cook, Vice President of Business Development.
"We consulted with the equipment manufacturers, end users and operators in order to develop a unit that really speaks to the needs of this market. Based on that, we assembled a team of designers, engineers, tech experts, fabricators and senior sales personnel. This team developed a vehicle built to meet specific customer, equipment and technology requirements now and into the future, and to deliver it at an affordable price," said Cook. LDV's mobile healthcare units start at under $200,000.
The Harmony is built on a Freightliner® commercial chassis with a 40' commercial aluminum body. The body was developed with an extended ceiling height of 88" finished in order to accommodate the additional height requirements of the Dimensions® unit. The unit is wheelchair accessible and outfitted with antimicrobial fabrics, solid surfaces and low-maintenance PVC floor and walls.
The Freightliner® commercial chassis and Utilimaster® body are built to withstand commercial use for upwards of twenty years. The vehicle's long life will allow for technology and equipment upgrades as needed as well as any design or layout changes that may be necessary down the road. All wiring is Mil-Spec and run through plastic conduit and raceways to simplify repairs and upgrades.
LDV has been building custom specialty vehicles in Burlington, WI since 1975. With over 25,000 vehicles delivered, LDV has more special service vehicles in operation than other manufacturers combined.
