Le Cellier Gastro Pub Debuts Its Art Showcase to Benefit Heal the Bay
MARINA DEL REY, Calif., July 20, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Le Cellier is delighted to present the "Blue Aquarium" series by Mary T. Duda. An Artist Reception to Benefit Heal the Bay takes place in the dining hall of Le Cellier on Sunday, July 22, 2012, from 3 pm to 7 pm.
Le Cellier resides in the heart of the Venice Canal. In line with its eclectic community, this neighborhood gastro pub offers a French-Vietnamese menu with weekend jazz and art exhibitions.
This Sunday, July 22, 2012, Le Cellier introduces artist and video game designer Mary T. Duda, CEO and president of VirtuePlay. Her latest video game for NASA, "Lunar Racing Championship," a multi-player online racing simulation game set on the surface of the moon, will be coming to PC gamers everywhere this fall.
In her watercolor series the "Blue Aquarium," Duda creates a playful language of symbolism that guides the viewer to experience the underwater world of fish in childlike wonderment.
During the art reception, Le Cellier will also feature Don "The 1" Bell and Summer Rona on entertainment. Bell is best known in the local jazz circles as "saxophonist extraordinaire" for his smooth and melodic, yet electrifying and explosive style of performing. Throughout the performance, Don will pick up any of his three saxophones - tenor, alto or soprano - as seen in "Sex and the City," where he jazzed up its theme song. Singer, songwriter and music producer Summer Rona has performed with and produced for such artists as Stevie Wonder and Ben Margulies.
The benefactor, Heal the Bay, was started in 1985 by Dorothy Green, who organized concerned Angelenos to end the dumping of incompletely treated sewage into the bay. Today, 100,000 of its members work tirelessly to educate and to develop inland L.A. County neighborhoods to maintain the current state of their clean bay.
To sponsor this event, a $15 donation will get tickets for Le Cellier's estate wine, microbrewery beer, and such signature appetizers as Vietnamese 5-Spiced Soft Cheese, Duck Rillette Tartine, Medley of Mushrooms on Petit Eggplant, and Salmon Gravlax. Le Cellier's creations, such as the Red River Mekong Delta Fish in Turmeric and Fresh Baby Dill, will also be available at the reception.
Raffles, silent art auctions, food, wine, beer and live jazz to raise awareness and donations for Heal the Bay will make this community event a worthwhile function to attend.
