Le Méridien Delfina Santa Monica Launches Sandbox

SANTA MONICA, Calif., April 26, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Le Méridien Delfina Santa Monica today announced the debut of SandBox, its cutting-edge new bar and indoor gaming room. Inspired by the surrounding Santa Monica beachscapes and "Silicon Beach" locale, this 950 square foot indoor lounge will feature interactive experiences aimed at discovery and play.

Interior architecture and design firm Dawson Design Associates (DDA) transformed Zest Kitchen, the property's former breakfast nook, into a delightful urban recreational area. DDA infuses the spirit of discovery and play through the heart of the venue. From swinging Eero Aarnio Bubble chairs to the 4.5 ft. custom designed dartboard, opportunities abound to relax and unwind.

The day-to-night space serves morning breakfast, transitioning in the afternoon to a full-service bar. SandBox specializes in local craft beer from Santa Monica Brew Works, craft cocktails and small plates like spicy pepperoni and grilled chicken flatbreads, organic farmer's market lettuce, cheeseburger, and truffle fries.

SandBox features double-sided 65" Samsung Smart TVs, the latest gaming technologies Sony P54, and classics like shuffleboard, darts, billiards and a life-size Jenga game. Artist Grey Malin's custom mural backdrop is an artful nod to the nearby colorful, crowded Santa Monica beaches.

The venue's programming reflects its subtle nod to computer coding, offering a testing ground for constant innovation. Upcoming programming includes happy hour, Wine Wednesdays and trivia nights. This summer, SandBox will offer live streaming of the Olympic games, specialty menu items of global beers and custom burgers, and a round robin tournament using the venue's shuffleboard, pool table, and digital gaming. Winners will be offered a complimentary round of drinks and the grand prize winner will be offered an overnight stay, drinks at SandBox & dinner at Longitude Bar + Restaurant.

SandBox also doubles as an alternative meeting space, the ideal breakout area for groups to socialize and unwind.
