Recognizing the highly visible contributions of women executives to the food industry, their professionalism, and awareness generated for the potential of women in food businesses and related organizations, the Women of Influence honors have been awarded annually since 2006. The WISE honorees are:
Peggy S. Davies, Founder and Board Chair of WISE, is currently Vice President of the Vegetable Business Unit and Industrial Sales for McCain Foods USA, Inc., a leading producer of frozen products for the food service industry. Active in the private label food industry, Davies was elected to the Private Label Manufacturers Association (PLMA) Hall of Fame in 2013. She founded WISE in 2011 to promote collaboration and leadership among women in the private label industry.
Tamara (Tami) Polmanteer, Board Member of WISE, is Chief Human Resource Officer of private brand leader Daymon Worldwide, the leading full-service global private brand and consumer interactions company, which specializes in end-to-end retail services. A human resources professional with experience in U.S. and international organizations, she is an expert on diversity, change management, and HR strategy, and serves as Advisory Board member for the Institute for Corporate Productivity and U.S. advisory partner for Enactus.
Women of Influence in the Food Industry honors are designed to recognize the contributions of women leaders in the food industry, representing food brokers, distributors, retailers, franchises, manufacturers, private label marketers, restaurants, associations and organizations, and universities.
