The Toy Industry Association has consistently recognized LeapFrog, bestowing awards on more than 20 LeapFrog products. The original breakthrough LeapPad® Learning System was awarded the very first Toy of the Year Award in 1999. Additionally, LeapFrog's Leapster® Learning System was awarded the Toy of the Year Award in 2003, and the Tag™ Reading System received this distinguished industry recognition in 2009.
"We set out to design kid-friendly devices that offer endless ways to learn and play, driven by trend-forward capabilities including connectivity for parents." said Craig Hendrickson, senior vice president and chief product officer, LeapFrog. "This recognition of Leapster Explorer and My Own Leaptop honors and validates what we set out to achieve, and inspires us to continue to innovate."
Leapster Explorer
Launched in June 2010, Leapster Explorer delivers the most powerful gameplay LeapFrog has ever offered—including Flash and 3D graphics—on a hi-res, finger-touch screen with a multitude of learning and play experiences. This includes supporting downloadable Leaplet™ Learning Apps, such as e-Books and videos, a click-in camera accessory, and access to LeapWorld™, an online playground for kids. Leapster Explorer also features auto-leveling game play, which stores information about a child's progress, and adjusts game and activity challenges in real-time.
Leapster Explorer is part of the LeapFrog® Learning Path, a proprietary online Learning tool, which provides personalized feedback to parents about what children are learning as they play.
My Own Leaptop
Toddlers can take Scout to "the office," with My Own Leaptop, launched in 2010. Designed for two- to four-year-old kids, My Own Leaptop features Scout and his buddy Violet as they guide little "techies" through learning letters, making music and exploring the animal kingdom. Parents can connect My Own Leaptop to the computer to personalize play by entering a child's name, "sending" preset email messages from family members and selecting favorite songs. Then when kids turn on My Own Leaptop, they are greeted by name and have mail waiting, for a play and learning experience all their own.
